alcohol and drug use is problematic for an individual,
everyone in the family is affected.
In the Adult Recovery Program, all family
members may participate so that everyone can access
help and support.

and family counseling, recovery skills training, alcohol
and drug education, urinalysis tests, continuing care,
and relapse prevention planning.
Groups
include:
Co-Ocurring
Recovery: For individuals with chemical dependency
and coexisting mental health issues.
This group focuses on the junction between
these issues; how they interface with one another
and what a healthy recovery process for both entails.
Drug
Education/Skill-Building Group: Focuses on the physiological,
psychological and social ramifications of using alcohol
and other drugs.
Sixteen key topics range from the neuro-chemistry
of addiction, to nutrition to perinatal aspects of
drug abuse. The group
also directs its attention to the development of core
skills necessary to support early and ongoing recovery.
Systems
Group: This groups main objective is to view the chemically
dependent person in the context of their environment.
Various family systems models are utilized,
as relationship issues ranging from fairness and
ethical concerns, to communication patterns, to core
rights in relationships are addressed.
A multigenerational perspective is valued
and maintained.
Relapse
Prevention Group: This group is designed to teach
clients about the relapse process utilizing a systematic
step by step approach. By
the end of this group, clients will have completed
a personal relapse prevention plan.

Our
Youth Recovery Program is a unique and intensive
outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program for
adolescents. The program offers individualized treatment
for teens and their families utilizing a multisystemic
therapy model.
When
alcohol and drug use is problematic for an adolescent,
everyone in the family is affected. In the
Youth Recovery Program, all family members
participate so that everyone can access help and support.
Services
include: diagnostic assessments, group,
individual, and family counseling, recreation
and leisure time skills training, alcohol and
drug education, urinalysis tests, continuing
care, and relapse prevention planning.
Each
adolescent has the opportunity to individually work
with a Behavioral Support Specialist (BSS)
who assists the youth in skill building. These skills
include developing and maintaining positive peer relations;
the constructive management of highly emotional reactions
during difficult situations; making constructive choices;
appropriately interacting with an authority figure;
and developing a sense of self which emphasizes the
ability to set and accomplish personal goals.
Families
participate in weekly family therapy sessions and
a Multi-Family Therapy Group. In this setting,
families have an opportunity to support and learn
from each other. Together, families begin to understand
the effects of substances on family interactional
patterns. Families begin to experience emotional relief,
increased openness, confidence, acceptance, and mutual
support.
Identifying
the thoughts, feelings, cravings, actions and relationship
patterns that have caused clients to rely on substances
and then to learn to manage these high risk situations
are an integral part of ongoing recovery. Regularly
scheduled individual and family therapy sessions offer
a rich environment for comprehensive relapse prevention
planning to occur.
Highly
educated and experienced in substance abuse treatment,
Youth Recovery Program staff members are Marriage,
Family and Child Therapists and Clinical Social Workers.
The
Youth Recovery Program is certified by the

drug treatment. The Center for Family Development
is certified by the state as an outpatient community
mental health clinic.
